What is VAZANTIS?
VAZANTIS is a spatial provenance platform for watches. It gives every watch a permanent, verifiable digital identity tied to real-world locations and events, shareable as a public passport anyone can check.
Does VAZANTIS use blockchain?
Not in the traditional sense. VAZANTIS is a provenance platform for physical watches — blockchain anchoring is entirely optional and used in the background as a timestamping tool, the same way a notary stamps a document. There are no tokens, no wallets, and nothing to trade.
What can I register?
VAZANTIS is currently focused on watches, with additional categories opening over time.
Do I need an account to view a passport?
No. Public passports are open to anyone with the link — no sign-in required. Only logging events or registering assets requires an account.
How do I register my first asset?
Go to Dashboard → Add asset. You can paste a link to any website showcasing your watch and VAZANTIS will fill in the details automatically — or enter them yourself. You'll need at minimum the brand and model. Adding a serial number is strongly encouraged, and a photo is required if no serial number is provided. Purchase details are optional but improve your trust score.
Credits & billing
How do credits work?
VAZANTIS is designed around ownership, not subscriptions. Credits are spent on specific actions — registration, certificates, blockchain anchoring, transfers, and Vazport™ services. Logging provenance events costs nothing. Full pricing is available on the Credits page.
How do I buy credits?
Go to Dashboard → Credits. You can choose from available packages or enter a custom amount. Card and other payment methods are supported.
Do credits expire?
No. Credits stay in your account until used.
Can I get a refund?
Credits spent on completed actions are non-refundable. If a paid action fails on our side, the credit is automatically returned to your balance. Unused credits (where none from that purchase have been spent) can be refunded within 14 days — contact support@vazantis.com. Vazport™ card orders can be cancelled for a full refund before dispatch; contact us as soon as possible after ordering.
Where can I see my transaction history?
Dashboard → Credits → scroll to the transaction history table. It shows every credit movement with type, amount, and balance snapshots.
Assets & events
Can I edit an asset after registering it?
Some fields are intentionally immutable — brand, model, reference number, category, and production year cannot be changed after creation. You can update the photo (if a serial number is on file), notes, nickname, and watch specifications at any time from the asset edit page.
What is a spatial event?
A spatial event is a verified record of something that happened to your asset — a service, inspection, purchase, storage update, or ownership transfer — tied to a location (a trusted shop, city, or online). Each event builds your provenance record and updates the trust score.
Are spatial events free?
Yes. Logging events is free. The optional blockchain anchor is the only paid part of event logging.
What is the trust score?
A score that reflects how verifiable and well-documented an asset's provenance history is. It takes into account location verification, evidence quality, blockchain anchoring, and the continuity of records over time.
Why is a photo required if I don't enter a serial number?
For serial-less assets the photo becomes the primary identity reference for that item. Because it cannot be changed later, it anchors the record and preserves provenance integrity — so we require it upfront.
Can I add a serial number after registration?
Yes — once. Go to the asset edit page. Setting a serial number is permanent and removes the trust score cap that applies to serial-less assets. It also unlocks photo editing.
Can I add older events?
Yes. You can backdate an event to when it actually happened. When a record is created significantly later than the event date, VAZANTIS shows both dates transparently — so buyers can always see when the record was actually entered.
Blockchain & trust
What is blockchain anchoring?
Blockchain anchoring stores a cryptographic fingerprint of an event on the Polygon network. It proves the record existed at a specific point in time and hasn't been altered — independently verifiable by anyone without trusting VAZANTIS.
Do I need blockchain to use VAZANTIS?
No. Blockchain anchoring is optional. You can register assets, log events, and maintain a full provenance record without anchoring anything on-chain.
Are failed blockchain anchors charged?
No. If an anchor fails to confirm on-chain, the credit is automatically refunded to your balance. You'll see an option to retry from the event detail.
What is a partner-stamped event?
A partner-stamped event is a service, repair, inspection, authentication, or sale record added by a registered VAZANTIS partner. It carries stronger provenance weight because it comes from a verified professional and appears with a gold 'Verified by [name]' banner in the timeline.
Vazport™ card
What is a Vazport™?
A Vazport™ is a premium engraved smart card pre-programmed with your asset's passport URL — tap it with any phone to open the full provenance record instantly. It is a physical card that travels with the item and activates additional provenance features connected to the asset.
How do I order one?
From the asset detail page, click 'Order Vazport™' and enter a shipping address. You can also order during initial asset registration.
What happens on first tap?
The first tap activates your Vazport™ and connects it to your digital provenance record.
How long does shipping take?
We ship worldwide. Fulfilment times vary — check the status on your Profile → Vazports section. You'll receive an email confirmation once dispatched.
What comes with activating the Vazport™?
Activating your Vazport™ enables a Vazport™ indicator on the public passport page, passport view analytics, a premium certificate design, and access to the collection dossier PDF.
Does the Vazport™ expose private information?
No. Tapping the card links only to the public passport. Serial numbers, private notes, owner identity, exact GPS coordinates, and any sensitive records are never exposed.
Can I order a replacement if my card is lost?
Yes. You can place a new order from the asset detail page even if a previous order was fulfilled.
Transfers & selling
How do I transfer an asset to a buyer?
Open the asset, click 'Transfer asset', and share the generated link or QR code with the buyer. The link is valid for 48 hours. The buyer needs a VAZANTIS account to claim it. Accepting a transfer costs the buyer credits — see the Credits page for the current price.
Does the full provenance history transfer with the asset?
Yes. Every event from every previous owner stays permanently on the record. A 'Change of ownership' marker is added at the point of handover.
What happens to the Vazport™ card during a sale?
Hand the Vazport™ to the buyer along with the item — it's part of the asset's provenance package. If it's lost, the buyer can order a replacement from the asset page after claiming ownership.
Can stolen assets be transferred?
No. Assets flagged as stolen are blocked from being transferred through VAZANTIS. The stolen flag is visible on the public passport and transfer page.
What if I no longer own an asset but can't do a P2P transfer?
Log a 'No longer in my possession' event. This marks the asset as departed in your vault without transferring ownership formally. The history remains public.
Certificates
What is a certificate of provenance?
A PDF document summarising an asset's verified history — trust score, event timeline, blockchain record, and owner reference. Shareable as a link or downloaded as a PDF. Generating a new certificate costs credits (see the Credits page for the current price); re-downloading an existing one is free.
Can I revoke a certificate?
Yes, from the asset detail page. Revoked certificates show as invalid on the public certificate page. You can generate a new one at any time.
Privacy & security
Are my GPS coordinates stored?
No. Raw coordinates never leave your browser. VAZANTIS stores only a cryptographic commitment (SHA-256 hash) of your location, plus either the coordinates of the verified shop you were near, or a city-level centroid — never your exact position.
Are my receipts uploaded?
No. If you attach a receipt, your browser computes its SHA-256 hash and discards the file. Only the hash is stored — it proves the document existed without exposing any personal or financial data.
Who can see my asset details?
The public passport shows only what's needed for provenance: brand, model, reference, trust score, event history, and location. Nothing private is collected or exposed.
How do I delete my account?
Profile → Account → Danger zone → Delete account. This starts a 30-day grace period. You can cancel at any time during those 30 days. After 30 days the account and all personal data are permanently deleted.
What happens to provenance records after account deletion?
Some anonymised event records are retained after deletion to preserve provenance continuity for assets that may have been transferred to other owners. All personal identifiers — owner ID, name, email — are stripped. Nothing that identifies you is kept.
Can I export my data?
Yes. Profile → Account → Download my data exports a full JSON of your assets, events, certificates, reminders, and credit transactions.
Partners
Who can become a VAZANTIS partner?
Authorised dealers, watchmakers, service centres, repair specialists, authenticators, and other trusted businesses can apply. Both physical shops and online retailers are eligible. Apply at vazantis.com/join.
What can partners do?
Partners can add verified service and sale events (stamped with their name), register sales directly to buyers, maintain a public partner profile, appear in provenance timelines, and connect with other trusted partners in the VAZANTIS network.
Can a partner add a record to my asset without my involvement?
Partners can only add records through valid VAZANTIS workflows — either via a stamp request you initiate, or through a walk-up stamp from your asset's public passport. They cannot alter or delete existing records.
